Menopause originates from Greek word Εμμηνόπαυση (Eminopause). But what it means?
In English definition about Menopause is “the ceasing of menstruation”. But what means in Greek?
In Greek the woman’s period also called Έμμηνος Ρύση (Emminos Rysi which means monthly bleeding).
So in latin the menopause was transferred as menopausis from word μήνας (menas – month) and pause (παύση) and in English came from Latin.
