Origin of word Ethos, ethical & Ethics

The word ethos orginates from Greek word Ήθος (ethos). The Greek word originates from Ancient Greek Ηθική (ethiki which means Ethics).
Ethos has several meanings in Greek. In plural means the customs of a culture. In singular means the moral code of a person.
Ethics in Greek is the philosophical study of the moral code for people, the search for the good and evil. The first use was by Aristotle in his works “Ηθικά” (translated to Ethics).
So we see the origin of today’s definition of word ethos that is “The guiding beliefs of a person, group, or organization “ .
Ethical is someone that he respects a moral code (usually approved by the society as a good one.)
