Agnostic – a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God. Agnostic was first used by Thomas Henry Huxley. Greek word “a” – non / without and greek word for knowledge γνώση (gnosi).
The ancient Greek word was Agnosia means the lack of knowledge but in modern Greek the Agnostic/ Agnosticism is used.
The first philoshoper that express agnostic views was Xenophanes of Colophon that he criticized the way people give to Gods Human shapes and characteristics. He criticize anyone that says that he know anything about Gods and he says that we cannot know how Gods are.
He jokes that if Cows and Horses had hands they would draw their Gods as cows and horses.
